Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my About Me page!

I’m Stephanie, also known as Widget’s Mum and I’m the person behind Widgets Wardrobe.

How It All Began

Widgets Wardrobe was born in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown. I started sewing as a way to keep busy and support my mental health. My first creations were affordable, durable fleeces for my beloved Greyhound, Widget. Little did I know just how much those first few fleeces would change everything!

The garments I made for Widget caught the attention of other dog owners, people in my village, and members of greyhound communities on Facebook and Instagram.

What started with just a small handful of orders through Facebook soon grew into an eBay shop, and eventually into the dedicated Widgets Wardrobe website you see today — something I’m incredibly excited and proud of!

We’ve even taken our first steps across the pond, with our fleeces now available in the USA through Easy Canine Essentials. We have sent parcels all over the world, we are lucky to be so popular down under in Australia.

We’ve also been featured and interviewed on BBC Wiltshire Radio, which is something I never could have imagined when I first sat down at my sewing machine.

Giving Something Back

I’d like to say a huge thank you to every single person who has supported Widgets Wardrobe, placed an order, recommended us to a friend, or simply followed along with our journey.

Your support means more than you know. Thanks to you, we’ve also been able to donate fleeces to our local greyhound rescue, Greyhounds – Swindon and Beyond, helping keep more retired racers warm and cosy.

Every day brings something new to learn, I am so happy that I now get to do this as a full-time job! I’m incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to do something I love while creating practical, comfortable clothing for dogs.

A Little More About Me

When I’m not tucked away in my craft room sewing, I’m a keen figure skater, so you’ll find me at the ice rink spinning around, jumping or commonly on the floor!

But, of course, none of this would exist without the one who started it all…

Meet Widget ❤️

Widgets Wardrobe simply wouldn’t be where it is today without my boy, Widget.

He stole my heart in May 2020, and I finally brought him home in July. Widget is a beautiful black ex-racing Greyhound, born in July 2017.

Known on the racing circuit as Southfield Storm, Widget came over from Ireland as a puppy and spent his racing career at Swindon Race Track — right up until the day he retired and came home to me.

Widget is a sensitive soul, he is qwerty and gentle. He absolutely lives for his walks and his zoomies around our local secure field, but once he’s worn himself out, which is usually after 5 minutes, there’s nowhere he’d rather be than cuddled up in bed with a good, long tummy tickle.

He is the inspiration behind everything I make, and he’ll always be at the heart of Widgets Wardrobe.
